Climbing Chalk from Seawater.
Our chalk is pretty special, even if we do say so ourselves. Climbing chalk generally comes from digging a big hole in the ground but here at Psychi, we’re making more sustainable moves. Our Psych Powder climbing chalk and Sustainable Liquid Chalk is all produced using byproducts from the seawater desalination processes which would otherwise go unused. It’s a bit of a home run, as there’s no dust from mining, no physical scarring to the landscape and the resulting chalk is naturally much purer than other mined versions and, crucially, doesn't have to undergo intense chemical purification.
Getting climbing chalk from your shop into customers' chalk bags more often than not involves a plastic bag that immediately gets thrown away. We think this is not only inefficient, but also a huge detriment to the environment. Which is why we’ve created our Eco Chalk Drum, allowing climbing centres to dispense chalk by the scoop, straight into chalk bags or compostable paper bags. It's cheaper than packaged chalk and saves a load of plastic waste!
